Hot Tuna, featuring Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane), will be joined by legendary blues harpist Charlie Musselwhite and two-time Grammy-winning guitarist Jim Lauderdale. The Kaukonen-Casady duo created much of the Jefferson Airplane's signature sound, and Jorma's lead and finger-style guitar playing characterizes some of the band's most memorable tracks. From their jam sessions, Hot Tuna was born and the group has toured and recorded steadily since then for more than 40 years. Musselwhite brings a lifetime of musical experience, from his early Mississippi Delta days to his immersion in Chicago urban blues and beyond. He has collected 18 W.C. Handy trophies, six Grammy nominations, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Monterey Blues Festival, the Mississippi Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts and a prestigious Brass Note plaque on Memphis' Beale Street. Two-time Grammy winner Lauderdale is a multi-talented performer and songwriter, with successes in both country and bluegrass music. He is among Nashville's "A" list of songwriters, with songs recorded by the biggest names in country music. The program includes both the acoustic and electric programs of Hot Tuna, joined throughout by Musselwhite and Lauderdale.
